About
Roots of Entrepreneurship

How Israelis are wired from birth to become entrepreneurs.
You might have already heard how Israel, “The Startup Nation”, is full of young talent with unique character. I believe that our childhood journey, the unique way we grow up in Israel, full of challenges and risk-taking, while being part of a tribe-like community, is at the root of our entrepreneurial DNA and one of the main reasons for the success of the Israeli start-up ecosystem, globally ranked as the most successful entrepreneurship hub outside of the U.S.
I believe this to be a fascinating phenomenon, that is both interesting to understand and has potential implications for communities of entrepreneurs, parents and educators all over the world.
For the last 20 years I have been active in the Israeli entrepreneurial ecosystem and have been gathering data and stories. I have spent my career working with serial entrepreneurs and nurturing many of the most talented Israeli young entrepreneurs. I have done this through many mechanisms: from my days in the Israeli elite 8200 Unit; through running accelerators and tech talent incubators with 18 year old first timers to serial entrepreneurs in their 50th, from health care to cyber security; through operating and serving in senior leadership roles in global technology companies, and finally – by being a mom to 3 curios boys.
Over these years I’ve seen roots of entrepreneurship in Israel flourish and have identified the key reasons why this happens. All of those experiences have informed my perspective that innovation and entrepreneurship is not a magical moment that occurs just like that. Rather, it is a product of a specific set of skills that must be intentionally nurtured from a very young age.
This blog and later the book I am currently working on, will unveil these reasons in detail.
Join me in a journey to the Israeli Roots of Entrepreneurship!
